Out roaming the Alberta country side again on Sunday and came across this forgotten wedding dress all laid out , even the shoes were there as if someone had just stepped out of the room while in the midst of getting ready for the big day . I guess the day never came ! Cinderella's harsh reality .

Lorna - really evocative image. But I gotta ask...you seriously "came across" this? I'm really not questioning the veracity of your story...I'm just thinking, wow. What a surreal scene to stumble upon. The peeling/crackling paint beside the window, the decrepit mattress, etc all add to the story, but the vacuum just puts the cliche over the top. Good use of harsh light and B&W for a harsh reality implied by the elements of the image.

Completely untouched by my hands as I would not touch anything in this house even if there was money taped to it. Had to step over a dead mouse and I m still scarred for live over that !! The house here are many and filled with amazing treasures waiting for their story to be told. The amount of dirt on the dress and vacuum clearly told that no one had been in there in a long time.

That's is a crazy story but fascinating. Dreams unrealized or abandonned, we'll never know.
