American Dipper

Taken this past week on the Yampa River, Routt County, CO. There were several dippers nest building under a bridge which I found after tracking a Bald Eagle to a large tree near the bridge. I was pretty surprised and very pleased to find these guys-a life bird for me to boot.

Excellent work on this Lifer of yours - congrats! This bird is one of my favourites. Hope you have later opportunities as the nesting continues.

Congrats on the lifer, and on the nice image of it. I'd be happy to have taken this - the ones I've seen in CA and here in AZ have never been close enough or in enough light for me to get a shot.

Congratulations on the lifer. And good work on getting a fine shot of these hyperactive little guys. This species would be on my short list of the toughest birds in North America.

Love dippers, maybe someday I will actually get an image of one as nice as this. Love the clear look at this bird and the nice light.
