Pickwicks Among Ferns

From the same patch of Crocus as before– lots of variety and color in it.

Some cloning of ulc and flower to left/behind the subject flower. I like to tidy up my comps when there's no way I can avoid bits of "undesirables" of one kind or another…

105 macro, similar contortions as before with the addition of Poodle's nose in my ear. (Silly puppy!) Fun to look through the forest, so to speak.

Appreciate your thoughts as always.

Very nice, I like the selective DOF. Good lighting. I like this image but I still prefer the previous one. Well done Catherine.

Very nicely done Catherine. A wonderful grouping. Particularly with them intermingled with the ferns. Just a suggestion, but, for my tastes I might be tempted to darken just a bit the OOF bloom at the back. The brightness pulls my eye from the In focus front bloom.

Your subject crocus is just gorgeous. I really like the comp of looking through the ferns to discover this beauty. I also like the complementary colors as well as the hues and saturation. I'm a sucker for saturation. I would agree that a slight darkening of the other blooms would strengthen the image. Good job.

Nice! I like how the flower is peeking behind the ferns...it has a very mysterious quality to it!

Just beautiful, all around. The flowers look like eggs in a basket. My only suggestion would be to blur the foliage in the upper right. It protruded in to your DOF and I'd like to see it softened.
