Manzanar is located in Owens Valley California and was one of the 10 relocation centers for Japanese-Americans during World War II. Up to 10,000 people were moved from their homes and forced to live in this remote location. This photo was taken in February 2007 while on our way home from a ski weekend in Mammoth. My son was working on a high school report on Manzanar at the time and got extra credit for visiting the site and museum. Being there on this cold winter afternoon really gave us a feeling of the difficult conditions these people faced. Ansel Adams did a series of photographs on Manzanar called "Suffering under a Great Injustice: Ansel Adams's Photographs of Japanese-American Internment at Manzanar". Since the main subject here is an object and it’s in a place that’s about people, I figured I would post this here as opposed to M&N.

lovely sky from which you benefitted. The top of the monument has a radiant backlit glow
about it that is a real plus for this image. I also appreciate the
background history of the place that you've taken the time to share
with us.
Only a single nit: I might consider removing the clouds in the upper left corner, as they are a bit distracting, at least to my eye.
