Headwaters--Rock-n-Roll

I'm pretty happy with this one. Once I found this spot, I took my polarizer off so I could get the blue refraction on top of the water. I maximized the contrast and saturation in pp get the "electric" wave over the rock. I've had this title and visualization in mind for a couple of years now. Glad I finally got to use it. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.

hi nancy!! i like the abstract you have here. the llc loses me a bit, though, and i would be curious to see a crop of about 30% that puts the rock nearer to the bottom of the frame. i love the light and the electric blue wave :toast:

Nancy, beautiful colors, beautiful textures, beautiful light, and I love it as posted and would probably love it with the suggested crop also.

Those electric blues are "shocking". The "bouncing" blue flow is really nice and complements the great orange/yellows. Neat capture!

Your composition is very well thought out with lines radiating from the upper corners toward the rock, and the blue lines curving around it. The color contrast also works quite well. Even with all of that, I still get the feeling that I'm looking at muck at the bottom of a stream which takes away from the "calm" feel I would typically get from a flowing water shot like this. I would also pursue B&W to bring this into the realm of total abstraction.

Hi Nancy. I just saw this photo and really like it. I browsed your gallery and enjoyed seeing all of your headwaters series. They are colorful, well seen, and fun as well as beautiful. Nice work.

Gorgeous, Nancy. The comp, with the off-center focus works great and the blue streaks are full of energy. Very nicely done!

I really like the electric blues and golds here Nancy. The arc created by the top blue reflection is an excellent compositional element. Well done.

I've taken several nice water shots without a polarizer and one often obtains what you have here.
This is a vibrant photo with great comp, color, contrast, movement and various shapes.
Almost "photo art".
Nice take.
