Orchids and More Orchids

The Western North Carolina Orchid Society's Annual Orchid Show is this weekend (3/31-4/1) at the North Carolina Arboretum here in Asheville, North Carolina. I volunteered to help out at the show and look what I got as a "thank you." So many beautiful orchids to see. But when I saw the orchids, all I could think about was how they would look on the scanner. And here is the result. I think they are just beautiful and what a great way to welcome spring.

Epson Perfection V33 Photo Scanner and Nik Software for final processing.

I hope the spring flowers are as beautiful in your area as they are in my little part of heaven.

As always, your comments are greatly appreciated. Happy Spring!

Barbara,

Late winter in the blooming time for these Orchids Cymbidiums. These are really richly colored blooms not surprising considering their source. I'm surprised that the blooms don't appear too squashed. Nicely arranged and processed.

Thanks for all your comments. Paul, I don't place the lid of the scanner of my subjects. I leave the lid off but I do cover the composition with a box that is lined with black velvet. That way nothing is "squashed" and no outside light gets in, other than the light from the scanner. I just love this processing. Glad you all are enjoying my journey of scanner art.
