#528 Winter's End

Around here, the seasonal signs get pretty scrambled. This crocus was photographed in January. A couple of days later, the same flower may be visited by bees. Fields start greening up in November. We get more snow in the spring as a rule. As soon as it gets cold, the skunk cabbage sprouts. Well, you get the drift.

Right on topic and a great photo.
The color is in stark contrast to the frigid snow.
Good eye.

Good color and comp. A unique juxtaposition. In my world, we have neither snow or crocuses.

Great photo for the theme, Robert! I like your comp in this and DOF choice which gives great details on the flower against a blurry neutral background. The bright cheery yellow of the flower is such a contrast to the gray cold snow.

Hi robert :wavey: This minimalist scene is well done, and shows us that winter is on his way out

Wow! Blooming in January! That crocus would be 6 ft. under in January around here :-) Nice capture. I really like the ice crystals all over the bud. The narrow aperture isolates it very nicely and gives it a good 3D appearance. Nice shot, Robert!

Hard to find a more appropriate sign of the end of winter than snow melting on the crocus, but January? You are right about the scrambled seasons. The snow and water seem to make the beautiful colors here even more intense.

Nice job catching the melting snow on the crocus and great separation from the background.
