Granite Falls

Granite Falls is east of Everett Washington out on the Mountain Loop Highway. It is an area that I frequent quite often, but rarely shoot the falls per-say. It is a beautiful area, and fortunate being close to where I live, within a 45 minute drive. The area holds a lot of history as some of the first mines in Snohomish County were developed there, especially in the Monte Cristo area.

Comments welcome! Thanks!

Hi Michael - I like this shot. The techs and sharpness are great. I feel like the water is a bit too dominant - like maybe a comp emphasizing the line of the rocks more might have been stronger. Still very nice.

I'd also encourage you to jump in and start commenting more. I think you'll find you learn more from commenting (and looking and thinking about other images) than posting. The general guideline (not a rule...) is 5 comments to 1 post, and it makes for a better community as everyone generally gets out what they put in. Thanks for posting!

Thank you David for the comment. In what you say, makes total sense in both aspects. Will work harder on commenting, as well as the photos I post. I really like this place and plan on being and learning here for quite some time... :jump:

Michael, I like this image a lot. It well portrays the energy of the high flow of water. All the cross-currents combined with the variety of color in the water makes for endless viewing, as if one were there in person. The perspective is great, too; one step to the left and you're bound to go the way Granite Falls is going! Nice work.
