Not sure what species this image is..Taken at Green Springs Garden in Alexandria ,VA. This is one of the first images I have felt comfortable posting with my 200mm macro... which I have been struggling with. But am starting to get the hang of!

Taken with D700 , 200mm 4.0 macro.
at 200mm 4.5, iso 200
bit of a breeze, on tripod.

Beautiful, Sally! Wonderful composition with the background flower repeating the foreground flower, and really great background blur and foreground sharpness. Great colors and light, too. I really like this a lot.

Very nice! Your composition with the repeating flowers, sharpness of the subject and nice clean background all work well to present the flower beautifully. Well done. :toast:

Pasque Flower for sure  - good details on the petals. If anything and if it did not hurt the background much, a bit more DOF for all the petals would have been nice too.

Beautiful flower and fine composition. That yellow on purple combo is really striking. My minor nit is that I'd like to see the anthers sharp, but then I'm generally a detail nut.
