Yellow Trillium Hillside

by Richard Siggins

Gallery: FloraPosted April 4, 201265 views6 comments
This was taken along Newfound Gap Road in The Great Smokey Mountains NP this past weekend. The hillside was covered with yellow and white Trillium, Fringed Phacelia and other wildflowers. It was raining when we got there, which really added to the colors.

Shot with a Canon 5Dii, 17-40 @ 20mm, f/22.

Wow, what a great collection of wildflowers. I really like how the yellow trillium wind through the frame all the way to the top.

Sweet environmental shot Richard. The vertical comp works really well. This really wets my appetite  as things are just starting to really pop here on the other end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Shenandoah NP is about 35 minutes from me.

Really like the rain on these these. I'm heading to the Smokey Mountains next week. Hope these are still out when I get there.
