White Dove

Not sure if this is a dove or a albino pigeon. He hangs out with the pigeons and I can't find him with either in the bird books. Regardless, I was thrilled to catch him in this classic pose. Taken with Canon 7D, using 100-400 IS lens. Dark sky lightened and a NIK vignette and a Topaz filter applied.

Hmmmmmm.. honestly not so sure about this one.. have come back to it several times today..
I think the texture on the dove hides it's beauty and simplicity.
To me, just seems a little messy or dirty, rather than the beautiful pure white I usually associate with doves..

Great idea, though! And experimentation and trying new things is ALWAYS good, in my book.

I like this Patricia. I really like the backlight and the glow of light from behind the dove. Well done as always. :toast:

Wow- great capture of a classic pose! I can see where Sandy is coming from - the pose, color and composition are so perfect and classic, that it really seems to call for a classic softness or glow in the bird, rather than super sharpened detail.

Really well captured in any case! :toast:

The pose against the soft blue sky is terrific. If you moved the bird up (or cropped from the bottom), I could see this as an inspirational poster.
