I think these little flowers are either toothwort or spring beauties not sure. I cloned out the stem of the flower because it distracted from the main subject. I darkened the B/G with Nik software and used lightroom for other lighting adjustments.

I really like this, Todd! Beautiful colored and blurred background goes so well with the rust color of the barbed wire. Good detail on the flowers which are so delicate compared to the rusty wire. This is a terrific image for Easter; if the comp of the barbed wire would have more of the traditional shape of a cross I could see this on church bulletin covers on Easter morning! However, I like the comp as is too with the 1/3 placement of the crossed section and flowers. Wonderful vision in this, Todd!

Very nice. The white of the flowers really stand out from the colors in the rest of the image and draw you attention.

I really like the contrast of the red rusty wire & the beautiful little flowers! Nice job on this one!

The question is, what is the main subject? Is it the flowers or the wire or both? Cloning out the stem only makes sense if the wire is the main subject, but then the flowers don't make sense either. I think I understand the symbolic content, but to me this is a confusing mix with no surefire suspension of belief (because the flower stem is missing), although I do like very much your processing.

Hey Todd, as to flower ID, its toothwort. Overall, I like the comp and colors, although I do sorta agree with Phil's comments regarding what is the main subject.

Todd this doesn't work for me. Even I'm watching this image longer time I allways see first the wire and then the tiny flowers. It is a interesting composition but it is confusing my feeling for flora.

Todd: Good eye and a really nice result. The soft delicate flowers against the harsh wire is a great combination of elements IMO. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

I really like this composition Todd. Fine art is the artists' perception. Wonderful vision and capture in my opinion.

The color contrast between the white flowers and the rusty fence (and background) is great, gives a very warm feeling but shows off the white flowers. I also like the subject contrast between the flowers and the rusty fence, it's definitely not your usual flower picture, but it works well as an image.

Hi Todd :wavey: This scene is perfect for easter. The delicate flowers representing hope and love, against the barbed wire representing all suffering in this world

Very unusual and striking image, Todd ! Like it a lot - especially for the way the bg colour picks up on the rust and for the emotive quality of the flower seemingly trapped on the wire.

Interesting catch here, with the balance of the buds on either side of the wire.. you were also able to highlight the background as to set off the flowers... I like this, as it tells me, that the beautiful and delicate have to be strong to survive!
