New growth...

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted April 9, 2012330 views18 comments

A new shoot of the Common Bracken in a little moss field. I always love to see these ferns unrolling, they look so powerful. Especially when you are on eye level with them. It is still very small, as you can tell by the mosses, but will soon be a metre in height.

Ferns are one of my favourite plants, and this early stage is fascinating. Beautifully captured.

I like this.

Can't wait for these things to start popping up where I live.

Terrific low perspective on this new growth, Ellen. Well timed for the unfurling, and the surrounding moss has a beautiful shade of green.

Nice shot, Ellen. I also like ferns and watching their fronds unfurl. You have captured a cute little youngster! Nice details on the frond; especially all the fuzzy "hair" and the moss forms a nice backdrop. Good DOF choice.
