Red Sky Night

One of the more nuclear sunsets I've ever had the pleasure to witness and photograph here on the shores of Lake Champlain, Vermont. Things were socked in and had little chance of lighting up when all of a sudden the sky erupted in color. Processing done pretty much exclusively in LR 4 and believe it or not, no saturation was added. As always thanks for taking a peek.

Spectacular color Kurt, some of the reds do appear clipped but I know how difficult it is to control the red channel when the skies are this intense. I like the sweeping curve and the reflected glow in the FG as well. Nicely done! :toast:

The lead in of the rocky shoreline takes you right in. Color is spectacular. Lovely shot Kurt!

Thanks!

Zack, nothing clipped in this one, perhaps it's a compression thing...

Nuclear is right. Must've been awesome to see this. Really like the comp and the textures in both the foreground and sky.

The color is rocking in this, Kurt! The graceful curve of the rocks is perfect for drawing the viewer into this beautiful scene. I am glad you hung around even if things didn't look promising. :toast:

Beautiful comp, light and colors. I really like all the small rocks along the edge of the water. Very nice Kurt!

Wow, now THAT is some sick sunset light! Very beautiful with lots of little nuances when you look closely. Great comp, too. Nice work!
