I just got back from GSMNP and have been looking at a few of the images. This is a "rough draft" of one I got yesterday morning. I shot at this same location a few years ago in October, but this is my first trip there in the spring. While I like the comp, I was wondering how this one works for others. Larger image included.

I like the water texture and the nice green moss on the rocks. The composition is decent but I'm not entirely sold on it, mainly because the land is kind of distracting rather than complementary. But that's just my perspective and perhaps others will have a different view.

I'll echo Phil's thoughts on this image. I really like the basic comp, but it works better for me with some of the top cropped off to eliminate part of the stream bank. IMO that showcases the moss covered rocks and the water action a little better. Just a suggestion of course.

Bill, I think the water and the moss covered rocks look great here. There is some very nice texture in the water and the rocks and moss have great looking detail. I also agree with Phil and Ed's thoughts. I like the idea of cropping the upper part out, but can't quite find a good cut off line without going right through some of the rocks by doing a scroll crop.

Yeah, I agree about a little cropping off the top, but still it is really quite lovely!

I like the water textures and the mossy rocks. URC is maybe a bit distracting, but could possibly be burned down some.
