Flowers everywhere! YAY!

105/2.8 VR with 12mm ET & CPL on D700, HH @ f9, 1/125.

With over 1500 images taken in the last couple weeks and the camera now feeling like my own right hand, I think my winter slump has thankfully slumped into history. Hope everyone is having fun out there!

The simple comp and form of the bud really works well here. The lines and colors of the background make this an appealing and unique image.

I am a big fan of buds, but not much of a botanist. What are we looking at here?

Nice quality of light and great detail on bud- Your composition choice is excellent as well, maybe I'd try to crop a little on the left side, but perhaps I'd be wrong about it- Great job, Fabio

Hi, Wayne--
In this scene we see the one Tulip bud, stalks of taller tulips with their foliage, and the blue in the bg is oof (on purpose) Muscari, aka: Grape Hyacinth.

Thanks to all of you for your comments!

Oh, my, this is like a dream. The bud is so very sharp and the background so very dreamy, and the colors and light are just amazing. Wonderful composition and POV, too.

Very well seen and captured Catherine. The blue BG really helps make this main bud pop. Isn't it great to see some sign of spring and life? :toast: :toast: :toast:

I like the color contrast between the bright green/yellows and the dark blue backgrounds. The details in the bud are great.

Lovely, Catherine ! Unusual and, I think, very effective composition - the flower being perfectly set in the field of blue and green.

Catherine: I really like the subject and love the color palette. I'm OK with the centered position but cropping from the left to 5:4 ratio works even better for me. Great DOF/POF choice. Many thumbs up! >=))>

Lovely shot Catherine, great repeating lines in the BG stems and wonderful isolation of the bud. :toast:

Excellent color contrasts, depth of field and use of line combine to make this composition standout.
