Salute to Spring

Is this a right-handed salute, or left? Probably doesn't matter. But it is my salute to spring. Bronze iris from my garden on this rainy, spring day in April. But at least April showers will bring more April flowers, and that's definitely a plus for me.

Original iris was "scanned" and processed in Nik Software. I decided to try another processing tool called Postwork Shop by Xycod to give this a painterly look. I like the brighter tones and details, just another way to process an image.

Epson Perfection V33 Photo Scanner, Nik Software and Postwork Shop processing tools.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous spring. Your comments are always greatly appreciated on this "scanner art" journey of mine.

Really interesting look, Barbara; I like it! Great color palette, too.

Jaymes and Lorna, thanks so much for your feedback. But I have to thank Mother Nature and my garden for showering me with these beauties. I walk out in the garden every day and marvel at the color palette and think about how I can capture that beauty. Be it with a camera or a scanner, it's all about capturing that moment in time. There is no telling what other beauties I will see this spring, but you know that I will capture them, either on the scanner or with the camera. Thanks again.

I especially love the look of the light on this one, along with the colors and subject, of course.

Impressive scan and processing, for sure. I really like the results-- artistic and painterly, indeed.

Spring has been great so far. I've been out almost every day having a delightful time with all my haunts just filled with flowers and more coming! Color me happy!

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I love the spring, but I especially love working with the scanner. It's very addictive and challenging. On the road for a few days to photograph some old cars. Still haven't figured out how to get them on a scanner ... just kidding. Keep clicking away out there!
