1st Honorable Mention - Weekly Challenge

WC530 GBH Sunburst

A great blue heron on the Fort Myers Beach pier. I got down low to try to hide the motels and condos, but you can still see their roofs.

I am glad you got down low because I like the heron placed high in the sky with all of the drama. Love the sun beams.

Wonderful image - very dramatic and perfect for the theme this week.
The God rays are a stunning touch.

What a killer sky with the sun beams and darker clumps of clouds! The dark sillouettes of the heron and the pier work so well against the wonderful colors and rays of the sky. But I also like how your comp minimized the human influence piece of the photo in favor of giving the majority of the comp to the fantastic sky. Stunning shot, Buck!

Superb silhouette shot, Buck! The composition is great, the exposure is perfect and the rays are a super bonus! Very, very nice.

Beautiful, Buck. I really like how you got down low to hide the buildings. The beams and the pose of the heron are great.

I would like to see the heron slightly a bit more off center. Good capture.

Spectacular capture. The heron silhouette works so well with the clouds. Hard to imaging this much beauty in an urban or suburban setting.
