Finally a change from the cranes. I lost the sun, but figured I'd try to get a few shots anyhow. I was reasonably pleased with this one, mostly for the pose.

1DIV, 500mm ISL + 1.4TC, Black Widow on RRS legs. f6.3, 1/125, iso 800, Av mode with -2/3 compensation. The flat light favored me and both the blacks and whites were well within the histogram. Cropped to 25% of the original. Normal processing in CS5.

Your comments and criticisms are most appreciated.

Thanks for looking,

Delightful! Nice pose, great DOF, bright eye, and the "puffiness" is just ecellent.

A very intimate look at this Chickadee Dennis. I like the low light. You still have nice detail in the darks. Your overall comp is great too. Well done.

Dennis. I think this is a splendid image. Details and exposure make this really pop. Even with the darker part of the background right above the head, there is still nice detail and separation. Very nice.

Nice pose and excellent detail Dennis. You handled the exposure beautifully-the bird shows real well against the dark background.

Dennis,
That crop held up very well. Love the PUFFY look of this cute little guy. Great details, good head angle, pleasing background, and a good perch. The light is perfect for a shot with huge dynamic range like this one has with the whites and the blacks. Great image Dennis. :toast:
