Muddy Creek Falls State Park,MD
Crop on top to eliminate some grey sky

This is the highest waterfall in MD at an imposing 51'. I know this does not compare in height to many other falls around the country, but this is a very photogenic area. The park also contains another waterfall and forty acres of towering pines and hemlocks, one of the state's last virgin forests.

You sure have had a lot better luck there than I have. This is excellent. I love the composition with the s curve of the water flowing down and out of the LR corner of the frame. i also like the horizontal framing. Most of the shots of Muddy Creek Falls that I have seen have been verticals. Nicely done.

Very beautiful. I love the flow of water through the frame.

This is very nice - great composition off the water flowing through the image and exiting on a diagonal at the corner. Nice work with the exposure as well.

Great shot, very graphic, I wouldn't change a thing about it. I shot this falls once in the fall, when I first got in to photography. I wish I had photographed this falls more while I still lived in Maryland. Good thinking on ditching the grey sky.

I love the supine nature of the creek and the blue-tint b&w look. Beautiful!

Ed,

Come on dude - no apologies for the landscape. ESPECIALLY when you get a photo as nice as this one. The curve of the creek, the lovely waterfall, and the neat ice formation next to the falls are all great. Well done....

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am looking forward to some snowfall this winter so I can head out to Swallow Falls in western MD and Blackwater Falls in WV again.

Ed,

Very nice composition, no need to knock the size of the waterfall. My only nit is the circular anomaly between the snow and the rapid inthe FG. What is that? It looks like a water drop might have been on the lens. I would try to remove it withthe Healing Brush in PS.

Thanks for the comments Youssef & Michael and thanks for pointing that spot out to me, Youssef.I had not noticed it until you mentioned it. You are probably right about it possibly being a water drop on the lens. I did not mean to sound as though I was disparaging the height of the falls; it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

what a beautiful winter scenery! The colour tone really make it feel cold to go with the scene.
