The sun illuminates thin wispy clouds as it sets over Pocomoonshine Lake in Downeast Maine on a calm windless evening. The words are from the Reiki Gokai. I was experimenting with channels and I zeroed out the red channel--it felt very peaceful to me this way. 4 (vert) image pan. Canon 5DII, EF17-40 @ 17mm.

Very creative. A very tranquil scene.

Bill,.. lovely scene and wonderful colors.... text can be a tricky thing to incorporate with an image. I might like to see a more subtle use of text. Perhaps a texture overlay or a drop in opacity so that the text becomes part of the image instead of something printed on top of the image. Wonderful blues and greens in this!

Love the image and thank you for sharing it. Just a couple of points.

As another noted, I would really like this image w/o the text, it would be stunning. The text simply is a big distraction for me.

Those two big rock at about 3:00 o'clock? I would brighten those up slightly to show them off and bring some detail to the shadow area. You have it in the small rocks on the shore.

Curious as to what post processing you performed. Feel free to drop me an email.

The overall scene with the blues and greens is terrific. Definitely very peaceful. I too would like to see the text toned down, might be worth trying it at 50% opacity or less, then it would blend better and not be so dominant.

Red being the color of anger, this image is very serene without it. The text doesn't bother me so much, seems to fit nicely with the image. Beautiful image, nice sentiment.

Thanks everyone for the comments! Marc and Mark, I'll have to do some experimenting with the text.
