Seasons in the Swamp

A few years ago I ran across this scene at Lake Martin near Breau Bridge, LA, with Ronnie Gaubert before he became ill. We were there in early February when the scene looked a bit different (see page 3 of my gallery). I shot this a couple of weeks ago when the swamp was beginning to green out, shot in partially overcast conditions.

I like this, a lot. The spring greens are lovely and the steady march of trunks into the bg makes a great composition. Very nice image.

Bill:
This place is certainly very special and unique. Never get tired of looking at images like these. The vertical format emphasize the enormity of these giant trees arising from the calm green water. Lovely shot.

The yellow greens of early spring really set off the cypress trunks. The overcast light creates a very warm, pleasant feeling. Very enjoyable.
