Fitz Roy Vista

After a 2 hour hike up a steep trail that started at the very small town of El Chalten, in Santa Cruz Province, Patagonia, Argentina, I got this shot of mount Fitz Roy. I, and the rest of the hikers, was very fortunate that the clouds, which had been hanging very low that morning, as they often do, covering most of the mountain, had risen higher up in the sky, very beautifully, to reveal most of the amazing granite wonder that professional mountain climbers from all over the world come to scale every year. Still, I think there was just enough low cloud coverage to give Fitz Roy a bit of a mystical look. At least that's how I see it.

As always, I appreciate all your feedback/comments. Thanks!

Awesome and original shot Leo. Possibly one of the coolest photos from this area I have seen. Would really like to see more shots with this composition but under different light. Don't get me wrong though, the light on this one is just fine. I think you've come across something very interesting here.

The compositional elements in this image are first rate. I would like to see a bit more details brought up in the clouds, if possible. Great location

Nice image! Definitely a unique take on the famous peak. That tree on the left adds a ton...

It's a classic view and I'm certainly envious of your experience. I like many aspects of the shot even without "magic hour" lighting, and the expanse of clouds helps me feel like I'm there in the sun looking at the distant peaks. If I had to critique anything, it would be just that...the peaks feel a bit distant and small in the composition. Also, I like the tree on the left but the intruding branches in the foreground (center and right) are a bit distracting as well.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Nancy, thank you very much for your comment, and for your suggestion regarding the clouds. I have also thought that the clouds could have more detail. I'm going to see if I can make that happen in Photoshop.

Phil, thanks very much as well for your comment, and for your suggestions. You have given me something to think about.
