On the Road Again...

This image is from a couple years ago on one of our usual outings to Waterton. This day was a particularly good day for bears, and this guy was one of the bigger guys from the day. He hung out on the right side of the road for a long time before making his was across. As he was crossing, this vehicle came over the hill and stopped at once. They started to take pictures of the bear, from the safety of their car. The bear gave them one good look before heading off to his next destination.

In Waterton during the summer months we see a lot of bears on the road. Now, I love seeing them up close and stuff, but I sure don't want them to get hit by a vehicle! My family and I were driving down the road once (in Waterton) and all the sudden my dad hit the brakes! At first I wasn't sure what happened, but there, crossing the road was a sow with 2 small cubs! We were so excited to see some cubs up close, but at the same time we really hoped they wouldn't get hurt!

Thanks for looking!

Has to be one of the fattest black bears I've ever seen. I'm guessing there were two cars in the frame until the bear swallowed one?

Thanks for the comment, Max! Really appreciate it!

Actually, I believe there were 3 or 4 vehicles in the frame before he decided to snack...  :jump:
