Mount Thompson

While shooting at Bow Lake last August, I looked behind me towards the marsh and noticed the reflection of Mount Thompson in a pool of dirty still water. I quickly changed my position and took this single image. That old saying about look behind you worked again!

Nicely done, Jeremy. A very tranquil mood from this image. I like how you composed it and the exposure is right on the money. Colors seem very natural and the reflection is a nice bonus. Excellent detail from FG to BG, so assume you were using a small aperature and a longer shutter speed to capture to right amount of photons.

What a pretty scene, Jeremy...and you had to look behind you! I really enjoy the look here, quite natural looking to me.

Excellent image Jeremy. Nice colors and composition. I like how the foreground pool leads the eye into the frame. This is a very peaceful scene.

Thanks for the comments, Peter you are correct. I used a 1.3sec shutter at f13 for this image (potentially a 2 stop soft grad to hold the sky back but I dont remember for certain).

Jeremy, I appreciate your composition with the near and distant elements working perfectly together for me. The reflection just makes the difference to my eye, and the tangible details and natural colors make me feel like standing in the middle of the scene.

Really like the comp, color, and detail in the foreground. Mountain color feels a bit washed out by comparison, but that could easily be brought down.
