From about 2 1/2 weeks ago along the Merced River in the Park. The Dogwoods were just opening up. I have always wanted to capture these blossoms just when the open up while they are still in their green phase. I have this branch in two different renditions. Not sure which I like best so I will post both, here is the first and I will post the second tomorrow.

Your thoughts appreciated.

This is very nice! Elegant comp, warm tone, and selective focus working very well.

I've tried a number of times to capture an isolated branch of Dogwood Blossoms, but just can't seem to pull it off???

This is a very artistic image. The composition works very well and I think the texture of the background really adds to the image.

Gorgeous, Youssef! Chris' term "elegant" says it quite well.

Lovely. The crop on left leaves small branches unconnected (anchored) to the image. In a perfect world the two branches left would return to the main branch for a perfect crop.
I love the capture.

Youssef,

I my own search for the elusive "Dogwood over the Merced," I think I've become a bit jaded with high expectations. this is a great find and I love the isolation of the single branch over the water,(tough to find as you know.) Personally, I'm not a fan of the early green cast and like the blooms a little more white - but that's just my preference. What does work really well is you've got the one blossom turned towards you.

Looking forward to your other rendition. I may have one to show in a few weeks.... ;-)

Most definitely we need to hook up in YOsemite one of these times. How about this autumn?
