Wildcat Hills Sunrise

Yesterday morning I went out with a specific image in mind and it did not materialize, but this is what I was given. It was a beautiful sky over the buttes as they receded into the distance. I used a longer lens to compress the distance between the buttes. This is a combination of 3 images for exposure. It was an absolutely gorgeous morning on the prairie. All comments and critiques are very much appreciated.

That is a glorious sky Richard. Again, simple scenes like this tend to catch my attention. I really like the streaks of light and color in the sky with the barely discernible detail in the shadows.

One of your better images, IMO.
Great skies, and this invokes a feeling of peace and quiet.
But, why f20 aperture?

John, thanks for your comments. I was at f20 because of forgetfulness. I had started out with a wide angle lens and some other compositions using a foreground subject using a greater depth of field and was not happy with it. I switched to the 70-300 to focus on the scene and compress it and forgot to reset my f stop.

Beautiful colors in the sunrise. the dark to light progression of the silhouetted hills is a masterly touch. Very nicely done

I like this a lot. The variations in tone/contrasts in the foreground are very appealing and the sky is just drop dead gorgeous! Larger version is a must to appreciate this. :toast: Thanks for sharing!!
