I've been watching this bird for over a week dashing between ground cover and an occasional perch. Finally caught a shot when he offered me a rare still pose.

Excellent job on the exposure Chuck, nicely done with tricky lighting and that white breast. I might try a little more selective sharpening on the head, it is just ever so slightly soft compared to rest of bird. Well done!

What a great bird. From your specs maybe a little less SS and a little more DOF would have helped with the sharpness issue but over all a really nice capture.

Very nice shot. I like the pose, perch and the BG but it does look a touch soft to my eyes.

I like the way the branches have framed the bird Charles, and the contrasting greens of your BG.
Good details & head turn too. I especially like the way the light falls across the bird here :toast:

Very nice composition, and very good exposure. A I agree with the others that the bird is very slightly soft; I think your focus point may have been the bird's feet. Perhaps selective sharpening, particularly to the head?

A difficult subject. Nice to get so in the open. Good perch, pose, and background. Good exposure.

Great job to get this shot, especially to be able to get it clean. I agree about the very slight softness, though the eye looks very sharp. Looks like perfect exposure.

Nice textural detail to the feathers and a very nice perch. Good timing to catch it in this pose and place.
