Under the Rhody bush

by Carolyn Derstine

Gallery: Macro & Close-upPosted May 21, 2012131 views4 comments
I found these droppings from a blooming Rhododendron bush on a hosta leaf. I thought it made an interesting natural still life. This hosta, a variety called "Great Expectations", is located almost under the Rhododendron bush.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/25 for 1/8 sec. ISO 400. On-camera flash, tripod mounted.

Art by Nature :-)

Carolyn you made a very sharp and sensitive observation and framed it accordingly. This way of observing, wondering and capturing is what photography is all about.

Yes, interesting still life. I particularly like the unusual hosta leaf with all the different shades of green and blue. Makes this look like a watercolor painting. I think the hosta leaf itself is very interesting and photogenic.
