Intruder Alert!!

Was switching out our old propane barbecue for the new one when I discovered this action. As I lifted the lid the drama began to unfold.
So I ran inside, grabbed the cam & caught this bit of the action..
I would've wished for the wasp to be facing forward, but he was otherwise occupied with his war of the stingers:wink:
1D M3, Sigma 150mm, f/8, 1/160th, ISO 1000 and fill. Shooting conditions? The dark recesses of the combat zone

Howard:
Nice capture of the drama! Well the bug is not going to pose for you in the heat of the battle. Like to see a little more DOF to include the stinger.

First of all thanx for your comments.
"And the end result was?" It was basically a Mexican standoff.
The Carolina Wasp was definitely agitated & moved to & fro on its nest. At one point the wasp lifted off & hovered to land again on its nest..Thankfully it was just the one wasp present & a manageable situation.

In the past I've actually been attacked by several of em' when attempting to photograph a nest..had to beat em' off while running for the door..That was fun:biggrin:
Eventually the Texas Striped Bark Scorpion just crawled off into the sunset.
Sorry to disappoint
