Alberta Falls

Just took a short trip to Rocky Mtn. National Park. Two and half days for beautiful weather and one day of rain. Then it was snowing fairly heavy when we left the park on Thursday. Alberta Falls is on the trail to The Loch in the Bear Lake area. This was hand held. I had a tripod with me, but it malfunctioned. I had the camera up against a tree and doing everything I could to get it study. I should have upped the ISO to get a faster shutter speed. The image is not tack sharp like I wish it was, but I couldn't pass it up. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

Nice spot and I like the symmetry between the falls and highlight of the cloud. There is too much magenta for my taste and the line in the lrc is a bit distracting, but overall a very nice shot for handheld.

Very nicely composed and exposed. The first thing that caught my eye was the symmetry between the falls and the cloud.
The second thing that caught my eye was that line in the lower right corner. An easy fix there.
As noted, there is a slight magenta cast, but it's only unsettling in the sky on the left side of the cloud.
A very nice capture, Richard!

Ditto John's comments. It's a lovely scene and I really like the shapes and textures of the rocks and water. Feels like a bit of a CCW tile to me, but that could just be the parallax of the trees.

something a little different from you. I like it. The line in the lower corner must go (as mentioned) but the rest of this image is excellent. I don't mind the magenta cloud, personally, and the water is very well done. Nice comp.

What a great looking place, Richard. To bad your tripod malfunctioned but still a cool looking image. A agree about the line in lrc needing to go. Hope you get back there again!

Richard: One of my favorite places on the planet and a fine capture especially considering the impediments. Very nicely done. >=))>
