This is what I call a cat bird, they have many sounds, but one does sound like a cat meowing... they are distinquished by the rusty spot under their tail! I enjoy them around my yard!

Taken with nikon d700 on tripod with 70-200mm 2.8 and teleconverter at 400mm... 1/200th at 5.6 iso at 1000

Yes, this officially called the Gray Catbird - a member of the mimics and a close relative or mockingbirds and thrashers. They can be secretive so getting one out in the open like this is good. Exposure looks good and you've kept the plane of focus on the face for the most part. Compositionally I'd include more of the feeding platform - as cropped here it feels very cramped on the bottom.

Nice crisp image, Sally and I like the eye contact. I think I'd go for a bit more room above the bird if you have it.

A better head turn than my shot! I'm seeing so many of these this year flitting in and out on all the hedgerows along the roads. I like that you were able to include the rusty spot. Sharon
