Stream and Fog

Haven't been participating or even getting out much lately. But I have been lurking and as usual awed by much of the work on display here.

I've shot this stream several times but never came away with anything I liked, it's usually just a trickle but a few weeks ago it was flowing nicely and with a fog bank moving in I stopped for another go at it.
The water was very bright but the range was manageable. Applied a 4 stop solid ND at capture and in the spirit of full disclosure also increase the density of the fog and added a touch of Glamour Glow in post with Nik CEP3.
Thanks for looking.

Interesting shot. I like the stream/exposure, and i like the glow. Im just not sure of the disconnect between the top circular bright area and the flowing stream. But overall, a pleasant shot.
EDITL just noticed there is something seriously funky going on on the rhs of the stream--strange artifacts.

Oh yeah I see what you mean Stan. I checked the original file and the artifacts are not present. It's weird how I can painstakingly scrutinize an image before posting and miss something as obvious as that. But hey that's why it's called a critique forum and that's also what sets NPN apart from the other photo sites. :toast:

Great job with the water. You might crop the bright fog from the top to keep the focus on the stream. I like the bit of green in the left side of the water.

This is really a pretty scene, Bruce. I like the movement of the water and the fog and mist give this a wonderful feel. The touch of glow works well here too.

The light and textures here are unique and appealing. At first the blank, foggy area at the top wasn't appealing, but when I scroll-cropped it, I could see how it added to the atmosphere of the scene.

Very nice job. Resolve the over sharpened artifacting areas and maybe a hint more detail in some of the shadows? and it rocks! Cool scene caught well. :toast:
