Tidewater + repost

Modern technology is truly amazing. Won't win any awards with this one but it wouldn't even have been possible a few years ago. I recently "bought my wife" a Nikon V1 for a travel camera. We took it along this weekend on a boating trip out on Prince William Sound. We went ashore and came across a little tidewater stream running across barnacle and seaweed covered rocks. Though I did have a CP filter along I did not have a tripod but figured I'd test out the VR. Here's the result(large version included).

1/5s f/16.0 at 11.0mm iso200 handheld

This is really nice. A feast of visual textures and complimentary colors. Even with VR, I couldn't get these results, handheld. Pretty impressive

Dan, this is a convincing presentation of the dynamics of these cascades for me. A well balanced an anchored composition to my eye. The larger version shows me delightful details of the diverse textures.

The textures and movement here are really nice, Dan. Could see composing with a bit more room on the left, but this works quite well too.

Thanks for the comments, folks. The image posted in the first post had been cropped a bit from the left. I liked it better but only marginally. Here is a different crop.
