Lost my car keys -

5-26-12 Bolsa Chica Wildlife Reserve Huntington Beach, CA

This Green Heron was below the pat alongside the fence separating the Least Tern nesting area from the balance of the area. The fence behind goes out into the water to keep critters out. This Green Heron walked repeatedly into the water and back up on shore glancing from side to side. We were sure he lost his car keys. After about five minutes of this behavior, he flew over the fence.

Shot on a tripod with a Wimberley gimbal. 30% crop from the original

These guys are always looking over their shoulders for anything, car keys include. Nice shot...

He's a pretty cool guy, so I'm wondering what kind of car he drives? I like the bird in this image...the fence is not ideal, but I like the colors and raised leg. Sharon

Really nice view of this Green Heron. To me the light and shadow work well here.

Good catch in mid-step, Patrick. Great colors and light, too.

I like the light and the walking pose and the colors look great. I'm not to crazy about the BG. Did you get any without the fence?

We tried to reposition to get the fence out of the the shot to no avail. Despite his movement he never left the fence. When we moved he took off.
