Spring Reflections

Playing around with the new D800 and getting to know some new lenses I found some great color and reflections with this intimate landscape. I focus stacked two images for a clean sharp image all the way through. Check out the larger version, I had to save this one at quality 4 to get under 200 kbs. Let me know what you think.

Todd,

Very nice take on an iconic spring. I like the composition and the silvery fall. The greens are wonderful.

It looks like you burned down the water in the left corner just a tad too much; it looks kinda grey to me. You might consider a touch of burn on the granite boulder top-center.

This is the type of image that would benefit from Tony Kuyper's Triple Play masks. It would help realize more detail in the whitewater, and in the deep shadows.

For those not familiar with this place, this is Fern Spring in Yosemite Valley--oops, gave it away.

Nicely done.

Thanks Preston, yes the burning was more suble before web sizing and quality saving. I wondered how it would take for someone to recongnize this locations. What surprises me everytime I visit is how many people stop here and fill up there water.

Nice. Only thought is to clone the twig in the black rocks.

Love the wonderful greens and the contrast and lines of the falling water. You must be having a blast with that D800. Nice work.

Love the clarity in the water, all the bright greens, and especially the reflections at the lip of the falls. A wonderfully peaceful image.
