Veratrum #3

by Albert Darmo

Gallery: FloraPosted June 3, 2012163 views16 comments
Nikon D300, 50mm, F/8, 1/60, ISO 200.

This is one of my favourite compositions, the lines are structured differently from veratrum #2. Here is a combination of straight and curved lines, leading us to the center of interest in the left lower corner, using the rule of thirds. Hope you enjoy this post, comments appreciated.

Most enjoyable series, including this shot. A very powerful sweep of lines and shadows!

This plant has been quite the photogenic model for you! I really like the flowing simplicity of this series, Albert. The color in this plant is so rich, the lined texture of the leaves adds to the flowing lines, and the various leaves weave together and connect in unique ways. I like how this one seems to become braided together in the center. Very Nice!

I also think this one may be the best, although that's hard to say, Albert, as they have all been excellent. As Carolyn said, I like the way this one looks woven. I think I'd have preferred more DOF, particularly up front. I'd consider cropping some of the oof bottom. :toast: :wavey:

Albert:
Probably the best of the series so far. Really enjoy this captivating image. Scrolling down I find the image even stronger when the lower OOF part is not in view; so I echo Scott's suggestion of a slight crop from the bottom.

Albert - Might be the best composition in the series for me. The whole frame filling the leading lines and curves is nice with a more dynamic feel provided by the angles.

A bit more nearer DOF might have been nice also

Wonderful lines Albert. The 'vanishing point' for the leaves in the lower half of the frame works very well. Nice, rich tones.

You never fail with this model, Albert. Again a splendid photo, especially with a 50mm lens. I love it.
Cheers.
