The Gift + REPOST 2

The Gift - Engadin lakes, Switzerland.

Last week I went to the mountains and this was the best sunset on my birthday.
I used a 6 stop ND filter for the 2 minutes exposure.

I know that the shadows a bit dark, it is a single exposure and got 1 stop underexposed.
It is not easy to calculate the correct exposure with the 6 or 10 stop ND filter.

In the reality there was a very big difference bitween the sky, the ground and specially the vegetation in the shadows. I can try to balance out a little, but then I lose from the contrast.
There is some small detail there in the raw file.

Thank you for your comments!

Great light show. I don't mind the exposure as it. If anything, maybe a bit more on the water but otherwise, it is looking good.

Nice slow shutter effect. The shadows are indeed a little bit dark. Sometimes I add a GND in front of an ND to balance the light ratio.

I like the mood and the beautiful light in the clouds. The hint of color in the water is nice, great job.

What a beautiful place.
Excellent capture.
I agree w/ Paul maybe the water could be a touch lighter.
This will make a stunning large print.

Beautiful light. The blur/orange contrast is really sweet. Personally, I'm not partial to this level of blur. It feels a bit more OOF than intentional long exposure.

Thank you for your comments!
I tried to make some changes, to lighten a bit the shadows, balance out the lights and darks. I am still not satisfied with the results, either I stuck at the same point or losing too much contrast, which I don't like. Also when I post something it always looks darker than on my monitor (although I have a calibrated NEC MultiSync 2090 UXi monitor)

one more repost, some small changes, e.g I removed some magenta cast.
