Blue haze 2

by Carolyn Derstine

Another blue flower close-up with more OOF flowers in the background. This is a close-up of one part of a Spanish bluebell flower; I have posted several of this flower before which had cleaner backgrounds. Curious what others think of this "haze" for this shot.

Canon Rebel T1i. 180mm macro lens. F/6.3 for 1/50 sec. ISO 100. Tripod mounted, on camera flash.

I like this a lot Carolyn. I like the 'haze' but mostly I like the colors and detail you've brought out. Nice shot!

Nice image Corolyn. I especially like your choice of aperture. All things forefront are nice and crisp while everything else fades into bokeh. :toast:

Gorgeous color. If the BG were any sharper I think it would have competed with the FG flower; as is it looks good to me and helps show the main subject in it's natural environment.

Stunning, Caroline ! Wonderful and very appropriate sharpness in the main flower, vibrant colour and superbly composed against the hazy bg.

Carolyn - Wonderfully well done. Love the magnification, sharpness, textures on the petals and the overall cool blue tones in the frame.

This quite eye catching for me Carolyn, I like the haze but mostly I like the way that flower is so sharp and grabs my attention, nice stem on the slight diagonal and great light on everything.

Just fine! Love the subject flower with its color and details. Like the bg, too; might tone down the white a bit.

Carolyn, I look at the photo and I think: beautiful! It's only a secondary thought my impression that the White Balance seems to me a bit too much dragged toward the cold zone as the leaves are also blue. May be it's what you wanted. Anyway I love the photo.
Cheers.

Right-away...my eye was attracted to the thumbnail by the curves...light...and simple form...simple, yet exquisite. Well done!

Superb, though if I had my druthers the blossom in bg wouldn't be there. Distract5s slightly from beautiful central image.
