Eclipse Sunset

I was unable to get the shot I would've liked of the recent solar eclipse here in Central Texas. The "solar" or "lens" flares can be seen trailing the sun here.
Anyway, without the proper equipment I was doomed to go up in "flames"
The sun hit the horizon/cloud bank shortly after it appeared, and this rare event was over in a few short minutes..

Even if you didn't get the shot you wanted, at least you got some to remember it by. I think this is a nicely composed shot even if the background noise is pretty strong. It would be a special experience to be able to see this firsthand.

I was on an airplane heading east, so I didn't get to see a thing...I'm jealous. I really like the red sky, the glow of the corona, and the subtle hints of clouds/horizon in the lower half. It would be nice to see more in the lower half, but making such an image seems like it would need a big investment in highly specialized equipment.
