A winter sunrise from near Mather Point. The line of flare spots points towards the icicles hanging from the rock.

Lots to like about this capture. Directional light is wonderful. I tend to remove circular flare images but that is personal. Bravo Doug

A beautiful sunrise from a unique spot I will probably never get to see. As there is no question of where the light source is for the icicles, thanks to the "God rays", I would take out the flare circles.

Great image, Doug! I really like the comp on this with the sky/sun/cliff background and the clearer foreground that juts into the picture. There are lots of interesting details in the foreground with the backlit icicles being extra special. The snow on the ledges really helps add a nice contrast to this image.

Love those snow covered cliffs and the beautiful light! The under the lip glow is a nice catch.
