The smaller of these two seemed to look to the larger as a parent figure, and the larger seemed to respond to that and also to be doing housekeeping on the nest (as opposed to just biting the twigs). Hopefully one of their parents is still around, though some parents have seemingly disappeared and abandoned nestlings with all the storm and then rain we have had. Are there too many OOF twigs in the front and right of this image, though?

Comments, opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

It is a nice sharp image you have posted, but IMHO the light branch crossing the front is a distraction. I would suggest croping tighter to reduce the impact of this branch. The photo does tell a story. Hope the parents returned. Thanks for sharing.

Nice image of the two chicks. The detail, color and dof are right on. As far as the stick in the foreground, it is a minor distraction, but that is the environment, so it really doesn't really bother me.

Very nice interaction you have caught between these siblings and I hope mom and pop return. You might have been able to minimize the sticks and twigs by shifting your position if that was possible but I really have no problem with it the way it is.

Great capture of the interaction between these siblings! Nice color and detail. The OOF twigs don't bother me. They give me a feeling of seeing what it was like to be there looking at the birds in their habitat.

Barbara, I find that my gaze goes right towards the subjects and I don't find the twigs a problem at all. A very neat interaction-great post.

Very nice, Barbara. You're really getting some good stuff from these these birds. The twigs don't bother me at all. I like the interaction :toast:

Touching moment of parent chick interaction. I might increase the overall brightness of the image some.
