Cedar Canyon Dawn

This was shot this morning just before sunrise. I haven't been in Cedar Canyon for a couple of months. Been doing a little traveling and concentrating on Buffalo Creek Wildlife Management Area. Cool morning and mostly clear. There is a little motion blur from the ever present wind here. Thanks for your comments and critiques.

It is a peaceful scene Richard. My eye moves about somewhat randomly but really likes the distant hills. I note a magenta cast throughout, which I would not attribute to the sunrise lighting. Apart from the cast, the quality of the light is good and I think you were wise to include not too much sky.

Good comp overall with the agave FG and minimal sky Richard. That plant mid-ground with red looks interesting too..Fix that color cast and you're home free :toast:

I see the magenta cast as only nit here. Great Composition.

I've missed Cedar Canyon so I'm glad to see you post one from there again. Beautiful comp and light (as usual from here) Others have mentioned the color cast but I don't find it all that distracting except in the extreme fg. I really enjoy your images from here. Again, thanks for sharing

Richard,

A fine landscape image and composition. Definitely agree about the magenta, but additionally it appears that you took the saturation slider a little too far as the blue in the sky is a little beyond real. Some easy fixes, but a nicely captured landscape.

Very different character here than is seen in your other pictures of this place, Richard. It's neat to see this contrast. Colorwise, the purples and magentas seem a bit strong in the dark tones in the foreground.
