Oriental Iris

Shot indoors in the studio. Used a single flash head to the right with a softbox diffuser. On the left was a speedlight with a diffuser. I was aiming for a very gentle soft light. I stacked the shot to get everything in focus. I used a bought flower as I wanted a perfect specimen.

Canon 5D, Sigma 105mm macro.

You definitely found a perfect specimen....
Great job on the stack and with the flash....detail looks excellent and the lighting is very complimentary.

Rob - Lovely..good stack and a nice Iris specimen. Iris makes a great entry into the right of the frame using the V from the leaves. Its usually makes minor but important compositional elements that make a good photo great.

As a minor aside I do see some lines near the leaf on the left - as if they are watermarked. May be my eyes playing games but something you may want to check.

Just lovely, Rob! Great comp and beautiful colors in this perfect Iris. I like the soft lighting and all the detail you have achieved from your stacks. As Ram mentioned I also see some lighter areas around the edges of the leaves and flower. Very hard to see; probably depends on your monitor.

Very nice specimen for sure Rob. The white BG works well. Nice job on the soft lighting and the stack. Overall a very nice portrait. I feel that the comp is a bit static, but for a portrait it seems like maybe that is what you were going for.
