Very large Poppies - even larger than the largest of Opium Poppies I have seen.

ND300s, AFD 200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/10, 1/80 Sec, ISO400, Built in Flash at -2EV, Diffuser and Tripod. 10% from left and right cropped to remove petal portions.

Thanks a lot for your comments on Phlox Whorl and do let me know what you think of this one.

Ram:
Looks delicious, like a cup cake with dusting of icing sugar  (pardon the food analogy but I am viewing this just be lunch).

Love the radial symmetry and even lighting. Like this a lot as posted but also wonder about a different square comp including the anthers along the top and bottom.

agree with Gary, my first thought was, that it looks like a well decorated cupcake....very nice light and colors, like your "cake" a lot...

Whoa Ram. Very cool details. Nice use of symmetry in the comp. Great photo.

Sweet photo, Ram! Does look like some kind of sugary candy but it also is a very "sweet" photo. What an interesting design in this flower center and love all the various shades of pink. I think it would also make a stunning photo to be a square comp showing all anthers as Gary mentioned.

I like Gary's cupcake comment Ram..sort of wraps it all up in a nutshell
Looks like great technique & execution to me, I especially like the diffused even light across the poppy.
Well done! :toast:

I've never seen one of these, Ram. I like the detail from the top down comp. Yes, it looks good enough to eat.

Ram, I had two thought when I saw this. (1) This could be be what the inventor of the kaleidoscope was trying to emulate; and (2) I have to have dessert now! Excellent choice of POV and concentration.
