Double Creasted cormorant.
Nikon-D300.
Nikon F4 500MM.
ISO 800.
F-11, ss 1/3000, HH.

I take it, this is the male, does the female go thru any outward changes during breeding season? Thanks, Eric

Amazing detail. Interesting look at both the inside of the bird's mouth and its eye.

Great image. I've never seen them in colors like this. Good detail in the eye and head feathers. Good choice to bump the aperture to get it all in focus. Nicely captured.

EXCELLENT look at the blue mouth - I've never been able to get a good shot of this.
Great, unusual pose, sharp detail, and overall just an exceptional image.

Stunning. Not much to add to all the great comments above...this is just an exceptional, dramatic, compelling image. Great capture, but more than that, great piece of photographic art. You sure nailed it on your decisions in the field and in processing. Congratulations on a truly world-class image.
