Prickly Poppy
by Richard Teller
Out at Cedar Canyon this morning looking for wildflowers. What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time we were about 6" over normal in rain and this year we are about 1" below normal. Last year the wildflowers were abundant all summer, this year they are sparse. The blooms on the yuccas lasted about a week. The Blue Stem Prickly Poppys are still blooming. All comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated.

Beautiful! Like the clarity and superb details of the center. There may be a slight yellow cast; would like to see the white petal a little whiter.
Glad you can still find rare beauties like this until they flourish again.
