Sunflower field near Dallas, Texas. I used a 20 mm lens (full frame sensor) to distort and draw attention the main flower in the midst of a field of sunflowers.

Enjoy and all commnets welcome....

An exceptional sunflower photo, Rick. Well planned and executed. :toast:

Did you blow up the small photo to post for the large one?

Wonderful! I like the three quarter view, looks like they are all waking up.

Rick: Besides looking for the sun this also gives me the impression of the flowers turning their faces into the wind.. Well seen and captured. >=))>

PS: I'm doing some serious lusting after an A77. How do you like it, especially the EVF?

Standard sunflower images have the viewer looking at the flowers straight on....it's nice to see a different take as you have done here.

Thanks for the previous comments. What I was trying to do and looks as though replies confirm is give the sunflower a personality and new look. :wavey:
Thanks for the replies and keep on shooting. :jump:

Rick:
Unconventional POV and I like the effect. This image transports me to the field with bright sunlight, blue sky with light cloud and wind on my face. :jump:

Rick - In a field full of Sunflowers and a wide angle would make composition a little tough - While I definitely like the main subject (the biggest bloom) and the nice blue sky which is complementary, the clipped sunflower by the left edge is somewhat distracting for me.

Sunflowers are my favorite floral subject :). I like your take on this scene. To me, a small step to the left to move the sunflower to the right just a touch would feel more balanced. It looks like you need to fix the halos along the edges of the leaves.
