Red-tail fledglings

Two hawks fledged about 2 weeks ago are the offspring of a mated pair of Red-tail Hawks that have tolerated my presence in Westchester New York for the last 3 years. Got this shot sitting under a tree while both fledglings were on the ground for about a minute. A parent flew by with food and they chased. Wild birds not baited or called. Nikon D300s with 300mm f2.8 with 1.4tc. ISO 640, f7.1, shutter 1/320. Thanks critique and comments appreciated. Ray

Very unusual image - I can't recall seeing a pair of juvies like this before anywhere.

Neat to see two together, and what a great photo opportunity. I have three in my back yard about the same age trying to figure out how to catch a squirrel. They sure are beautiful birds and you really nailed the shot. :toast:

Very cool image! I like the way the birds are in very similar poses and lookiing in the same direction. Great color and detail and nice bg.
