Durness Sunrise +Repost
by Eva McDermott
Not sure this is going to work for anyone but this is one of my first post of a Velvia50 image of Durness Beach at sunrise in the northern highlands of Scotland. It was taken on a Transient Light Workshop with Ian Cameron. Just received my transparencies back today. I like the lines of light here though it might be a bit bright for some. I like it.... Just think of it as a light sandwich! This particular beach reminded me much of the beaches in Oregon especially around Ecola. This shot not in particular but I'll share others.
Let me know what ya think. I am sorry I did not shot more than 20 rolls of film on my trip....... cause I like the light here and there were so many other opportunities like this to show case the the art of film images that I may have missed..... and I really miss it personally.

Don't forget to go over those scans with a fine tooth comb at 100% you don't have the ICE4 so you do get a few hairs and dusties cropping up which need melting away with the photoshop ointments. Just sent my film off today.
Love the shot. Just wondering how a very low angle just foot above sand would look.
Also, thanks Ian I missed the dust bunnies since I was so excited to see my film last night. For the repost, I used the "dust bunny be gone tool" in CS6. I will rescan this tonight using iSRD in Silverfast Ai Studio 8 which is similar to digital ice.
Bill - I got back into film last year when I bought my own Pentax 67ii. BTW - I did film from the early 70's to ~2005 (35mm, MF, 4X5 (a little, not for me). Took both film and digital cameras on the trip. I'll stick with both for now. The digital images I took this same morning looked nothing like this.
Gary.
Glorious sky and light! Viva la Velvia! No nits here other than little things already mentioned.
I could almost see this as a vertical too with the right 2/3 or so, but this works beautifully as presented.

Not really much I can add, other than Thanks for being a little brave and posting this image where the light is an undominanted pair with the rich color. Sometimes I think color is chosen over light. " Angels of light sing in this."

Long live film.
I think I might prefer it without the rock.
